What Graduates Say about GDA

I spent all 4 years of high school at Gloria Deo Academy and graduated in 2018. Going to Gloria Deo was an amazing experience for me. I graduated more prepared for college than many of my peers were who had other high school experiences. I went into college with the ability to participate in discussions, complete long papers, and study well for tests. Gloria Deo asked a lot of me but all of that prepared me to be able to perform on the level that I need to in college. Gloria Deo also prepared me to manage my time well in college. I had to be self-motivated to get done all that was assigned on home days and that is definitely a skill that is needed in college.

I also grew a lot as a person at Gloria Deo. Over my four years, I had many of my teachers’ multiple times and I got to learn not only academics from them, but also how to live in a Christlike way. The teachers at Gloria Deo genuinely care about their students outside of the classroom and that is something that I am grateful for. The small class sizes were a huge gift. My classmates and I grew into a family and I am so grateful that I got to do life with them.

All in all, my GDA experience helped me to become the person I am today through discipleship and academic preparedness. I feel very blessed to have had this wonderful experience!

Hello! I am a graduate of Gloria Deo Academy and am about to finish up my freshman year of college at Colorado Christian University (CCU). I am so grateful for my years at GDA! The academics at CCU are ranked in the top 2% nationally, and yet GDA thoroughly prepared me to successfully take on my academic load my freshman year. In fact, I felt far more equipped than many of my peers and am currently on the Dean’s List. School is always a challenge for me because I actually have a learning disability-auditory processing disorder. This goes to show that any obstacle can be overcome through the power of Christ and willing educators.

The university model provided me a unique experience, pre-college, to learn how to manage my time and learn independently, which can be a challenge for many college students. The level of reading, writing and overall excellence required out of students at GDA pushed me to constantly be improving which carried over into my college courses. Writing well does not come naturally to me, however, one of my professors who is a professional writer for Broadway musicals recently complimented my writing highly. I again attribute this acknowledgment to the training I received at GDA. I also passionately believe that the time GDA gave back to the family was a huge benefit to my success in college. Many students were incredibly busy their senior year and did not leave with confidence in their relationships with their family members or really viewed and appreciated their parents as spiritual mentors. I experienced so much spiritual formation from my parents before leaving for college, which I greatly attribute to the time GDA allotted to the family.
